An Artist Can Not Live By Pageviews Alone

Description

...If it were not true I would have told you so.
And come to think of it ...I just did.

If I lived my life creating my art solely by the
amount of page views my artwork (or gallery) received,
than I would have quit creating a long time ago.

I'm just being honest here and I don't think it matters very much
really how many page views you got here on deviant art.
Anyone that has been on dA long enough knows this to be all
too true.

Take a picture of yourself nude in front of a mirror or a camera with a timer and of course there will be lots of people that will look at it.
Ta Dah!!! Instant page view stardom, here I come.

*READ THIS PART CAREFULLY: I have nothing against truly artistic nudes of any medium,
I'm just saying put a little more effort into it is all.
Make me want to buy the photo and not just drool over you
or make my stomach turn.

(Okay now read it a few more times until the offense has subsided or is totally gone.)

Or become an art thief if your desperate for page views and post stuff that you claim belongs to you ...even though we all know it does not belong to you and it still has the artists watermark that created it still on it.

An artist that spends hours and hours or weeks upon weeks pushing their artistic limits and getting nothing in return from their hopes of page view glory is a sad thing I know but then why do it all if only just for a few page views.

An artist that lives and breathes, and even oozes
serious artistic greatness doesn't create what they
envisioned or dreamed of creating based on high hopes of
front page status and thousands upon thousands of page views.

An artist creates what they love to create
(no matter what the medium is)
because this is what they live to do.

It's why they wake up almost every morning ready to push
themselves beyond any boundaries they never knew they
could break through. The artist creates what they live to create no matter what people say or do.

This is just my opinion and I'm more than sure (because I'm slightly arrogant) it's not just my feelings or thoughts alone
on this thought/point of view, deviantART is just one place for an artist to have their artwork seen or to be expressed in pretty much any format known or not quite sure what it is.
It's not always the friendliest on many levels (if you know what I mean) nor does it always look like a hard working artist is getting their fair share of attention either.
But as that good old annoying saying goes that so profoundly
fits here at the end of this little observation, "It is what it is."

I hope you like it. (And if you don't that's okay it's just another lost among all the rest.)
Thank you for the views, faves, and comments.
And thank you for reading this long ass thing.:XD:

An excellent message, though every artist likes to know that their stuff is being looked at - So I shall continue binging on your gallery!
