I used a Canon t3i, with one of my special lenses I use frequently.

Hmm. . . Maybe.
I use a Nikon Coolpix L110 for all of my other macros, so it might be possible.
If the L810 has a manual shutter speed, you should be able to shoot all kinds of macros like this
and many others too.

I kind of bought my camera because of you as well. :D I took a few macro pictures but they weren't real close, and the composition was kind of bad.
