Beauty is not eternal, I wish it was though, but outward beauty isn’t enough and it will only go so far and last for only so long. I think how blessed or lucky those with outer beauty are, that others are drawn to their appearance so easily, not knowing if the beauty seen without is equal or greater than the beauty within. I’d like to think that those that are attractive outwardly are just as beautiful inwardly, with that being said, I’d also like to think that those that are less attractive, less pleasing to the eye, are extremely beautiful within, and people are drawn to them because of an inner beauty that is longer lasting than the outward appearance will ever be.
The beauty we see on the outside fades, but the beauty within, more often than not and more often than most believe or know; this never truly diminishes.
I wish all of this wasn’t so, but sadly, it is.
This is one reason (among many others), is why I don't shoot a lot of self-portraits.
I want to be remembered for what I create, for what I write, for what I do and don't do,
and not because of how I look or want others to think, that when they
see a photo of me, that this is who I really am, in a way that I don't always share with others as often as I wish I could.

Needless to say, in spite of this point of view, I am still going to attempt to shoot a lot of self-portraits with the intentions of
sharing with others, who I am.
This is a little sample of how I see the world. Is it wrong, is it right? I couldn't say, but for now, this is how I feel.
I appreciate a beautiful person, please don't misunderstand this, I just don't think that looks are anymore important than what is on the inside.

I hope you like it and if you don't, I'll understand.
Please keep in mind, I am not the only one that shares this point of view or frame of mind.
Thank you for the views, faves, and comments.

I fully understand this.

Outward beauty is something that gives first impressions and gives you an idea whether it is worth being drawn into that person or not. Human nature. Someone nice will draw your attention. Eventually who they are within begins to become evident as you get to know the person, but unfortunately most of the time, people conscious of their outward beauty ruin themselves by making that their everything, demolishing inward beauty to be full of their appearance, leaving nothing from within for others to enjoy.

People with less outward beauty are just less likely to attract you from the start. Also unfortunate, because these are as you said, more likely to have a beautiful character.

Though this was something very evident in teenage years - with boys only willing to make friends with girls who were pretty and so on. Maturity comes along in time when this distinction starts to be made.

What's great is when you find someone attractive, who doesn't think so him/herself, and has a beautiful character. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - and thank God for that ^^
